What every EKU freshman needs to know: College is difficult. If it wasn’t, then everyone would do it. But then again, life is difficult, so college should by no means be an exception to this rule. Throughout your college career, you are going to face a lot of challenges that question your desire to be in school. You will have your good times, as well as your bad times. Absolutely everyone goes through this, and you should never feel like a failure for taking a stumble while taking a stroll down the road to greatness! Always remember that you are here because you want to be here, not because somebody told you to come. Never underestimate the power of the friendships you develop, and never be afraid to ask for help. You are not alone.

Don't be afraid to come out of your comfort zone and get involved on campus.  Your involvement helps you makde friends and enjoy campus life so much more.  Always take your studies seriously from the beginning, but make sure to have "fun time" also.  DARE TO BE GREAT!

What every EKU freshman needs to know:  The nice thing about college is that it's completely separate from all the school you've done before.  So, no matter how you did in high school, you get a fresh start.  This means that you get to choose almost everything you do, but it also means that what you get out of college is completely up to you.  If you want it to be, college will be a great experience that will help you for the rest of your life.

Emily Mauntel

What every EKU freshman needs to know: The beginning is going to be tough at times. It's a whole new world and different than anything you've ever done before. Try to get involved on campus - that's the best way to meet new people.  At first you are leaving your family at home, but as time goes on you'll have an entirely new family on campus and you'll love it - hopefully as much as I do!

What every EKU freshman needs to know: Don't get too stressed out.  Life does go on, and just take everything one step at a time.  That sounds super cliche, but it's true.  If you get overwhelmed, then you won't be able to accomplish anything.  Always stay on top of your school work and get involved if you can.  Being a part of campus makes you feel more a part of a family and gives you something to do.
