The EKU Center for Student Parents is a place to feel supported, accepted and prepared for life as a parenting college student. Through guidance, academic support, advising, workshops, referrals and employment opportunities, student parents can graduate and meet educational and personal goals. The Eastern Scholar House is open to qualifying students with a long-term goal of self-sufficiency who would benefit from living in an educationally driven and supportive environment. ESH is a combination of education supports, housing, and child development services, all of which are interdependent. Priority for housing is given to single parents with children who participate in the Eastern Scholar House program. The program in Richmond is owned by an LLLP while managed and operated by Kentucky River Foothills Development Council, Inc. as the general partner.

The Freshman Academy is an interactive learning experience that promotes the retention of all students, with particular focus on minority students. It is designed to provide first year students with the information, encouragement and direction they need in order to navigate college life and reach their academic, personal, and professional goals at Eastern Kentucky University. The Academy connects first-year students with their fellow classmates, and introduces them to EKU faculty, staff and student leaders who will provide on-going support throughout their college career at EKU and beyond.

The Eastern Kentucky University Speech-Language-Hearing Clinic (EKU-SLHC) is an integral part of the clinical program of Communication Disorders at EKU. We are located on the second floor of the Wallace Building. We are dedicated to serving individuals with communication delays and disorders. The EKU-SLHC provides speech-language pathology services to more than 100 clients each school year, including summers. We offer a full range of diagnostic and therapy services in speech-language pathology for both children and adults. As part of a nationally accredited University Program, our diagnostic and therapy services are provided by upper level undergraduate and graduate student clinicians, under the direct supervision of nationally certified speech-language pathologists.
